How have you met your Fiancé?
Jon and I met right at the end of college when my friends dated among his friends. We didn't start dating until both of us moved to Kansas City.
Describe your proposal.
We visited my favorite restaurant, Lidia's, for lunch. On the way home I just had this strange feeling it might happen--I know many people say that, but I did! I remember searching the window to cover the fact that I was smiling just too large (in case my instincts were wrong, I didn't would like to get caught smiling just like a goofball for pointless). When we got home, our home was full of candles, and vases of tulips were EVERYWHERE--those are my favorite flowers. It's kind of a blur next, but I know there is crying. We drank champagne, placed on a record, and enjoyed the moment--until we couldn't stand it anymore and we called us and friends to share the happy news!
How have you chosen the place for your wedding? What type of venue had you been looking for?
As soon once we saw the Kansas City Library, we knew this is where we desired to get married. We didn't even look anywhere else next. It has a lot of beautiful Art Deco details and a grand and stylish feel to it. We also liked it is downtown and near to the hotel in our choice, The President, and our rehearsal dinner location, Lidia's. We had the ceremony around the first floor within the beautiful two-story entrance, cocktail hour was around the rooftop after which dinner/dancing is at a room that led to the rooftop.
How have you decided on your bridesmaid's dresses? Tell us about your experience at feel times!
I had a lot of fun selecting the bridesmaid dresses--but I took longer to choose those than my very own dress! Originally I desired to do ivory, but someone attempted to discourage me from doing that--saying it would remove from my dress. Then I was kind of leaning towards navy blue bridesmaid dresses, but I still had ivory within the back of my thoughts. I loved the thought of all white after which the only colors were the soft pinks and greens from the bouquets.
Who designed your wedding dress? Where have you got it?
I got my dress from FeelTimes. It was an attractive ivory lace and silk organza strapless gown. I loved my dress! I'd wear it every day if I could!
What was the most memorable part of your day?
That's tough to choose! Our ceremony was officiated by my godfather and it is intimate and special. He had us write one another a short letter and provide it simply to him and never let one another read it beforehand. When he read them in the ceremony, we heard them for the first time--there is a large amount of crying and laughing. I also really enjoyed all from the toasts--again more tears and laughter.
What advice have you got for other brides?
It all passes so fast!! You spend a lot of time planning the whole thing after which you snap your fingers also it's over. My advice is to unwind and enjoy the day. Don't stress because that's a colossal waste of your energy and energy on a day that only happens once. Cherish every moment! Oh--and attempt to step back and appear around at all from the beautiful details that you simply spent annually planning.
