The time has finally come Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season has arrived. It all kicks off Thursday with Lions-Chiefs at 8:20 p.m. ET, but we're focusing on Sunday's main slate so we can a semble some NFL DFS lineups and make some early-season cash. In order to afford studs, we all know we must invest in some sleepers and values on FanDuel, DraftKings, and SuperDraft. The concept of this column is simple: target players we believe to be undervalued or overlooked by the majority of daily fantasy players. If we believe in their upside or have a much higher points projection for them than most sites and analysts we scoop them up and list them here.We scour DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft to pinpoint the best investments -- like a grandma clipping coupons out of the Trevor Ariza Jersey Sunday circulars and then we write about our favorites for each position.WEEK 1 DFS LINEUPS: | By capitalizing on affordable sleepers in certain DFS roster spots, we leave ourselvesthe budget to greatly improve other roster spots with weekly studs. Let's face it, in order to afford a Justin Jefferson ($8,800), you must invest in the occasional Nico Collins ($4,700).We hit on our value picks over and over in 2022 consistently delivering 10-plus players in the 18-22 fantasy point range and we're ready to carry that succe s over to the '23 NFL season. So, let's find some sleepers and values, and go make some money in the DFS market. Good luck, and enjoy the first week!MORE:For those unfamiliar,DFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well as matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is a signed a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. Users can roster any player in their lineup with no restrictions.MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS:All player values are from DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft. All stats are from NFL.com and Pro Football Reference.Derek Carr, Saints vs. Titans (DK: $5,300 | FD: $7,000 | SD: 1.5X multiplier)Carr gets a bad rap for his past few years with the Raiders, but the world will soon learn that his struggles were more about the lineup around him than about his shortcomings. Even on an injury-plagued offense with i sues aplenty, Carr finished the 2022 season tied for third in deep-ball touchdowns and within the top 10 in deep-ball yards. Now he Allen Iverso Jersey gets a healthy Michael Thomas and an insanely talented Chris Olave to target? Sign us up. The Titans' secondary was deplorable last season, and lists them 26th of 32 to start the 2023 campaign. Start the Carr -- and let the Dad jokes commence.Geno Smith, Seahawks vs. Rams (DK: $6,100 | FD: $7,200 | SD: 1.3X)We've been big on Smith all preseason, and we love the opportunity he has this week at home against a bumbling Rams squad. Los Angeles has arguably the worst secondary in the NFL ( says it's not even arguable), and Seattle once again has a strong receiving corps, led by DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Papa Geno could be enjoying an all-you-can-score special this Sunday.Other solid Week 1 values: Desmond Ridder, Falcons vs. Panthers (DK: $4,900 | FD: $6,500 | SD: 1.5X); Anthony Richardson, Colts vs. Jaguars (DK: $5,600 | FD: $6,700 | SD: 1.45X)WEEK 1 STANDARD RANKINGS: | | | | | Raheem Mostert, Dolphins at Chargers (DK: $5,400 | FD: $5,900 | SD: 1.4X)Veteran Jeff Wilson Jr. (finger, midsection) will mi s at least the first four games of Miami's 2023 campaign, and rookie De'Von Achane has been dealing with a shoulder i sue. All the more reason to smash-play Mostert, who has always thrived in a Mike McDaniel run-heavy offense. The Chargers finished the 2022 season allowing the seventh-most DK points to RBs, and their front seven didn't get much better in the offseason. Gimme mo', gimme gimme mo' Mostert.Samaje Perine, Broncos Saddiq Bey Jersey vs. Raiders (DK: $5,100 | FD: $6,000 | SD: 1.55X)Javonte Williams is le s than 11 full months removed from a tear of his ACL and LCL, and he's undoubtedly a big part of their long-term plans. So, to le sen Williams' workload, Denver brought in the longtime Joe Mixon handcuff, who has always filled in admirably whenever called upon. We think Perine will be called upon early and often starting this week, with Mile High rocking against the division-rival Raiders. Only four teams allowed more fantasy points to RBs than Las Vegas in 2022. Work in some Samaje magic.More solid Week 1 RB values: Brian Robinson Jr., Commanders vs. Cardinals (DK: $5,100 | FD: FD: $6,400 | SD: 1.55X); AJ Dillon, Packers at Bears (DK: $5,200 | FD: $6,100 | SD: 1.45X); Jamaal Williams, Saints vs. Titans (DK: $5,100 | FD: $6,800 | SD: 1.4X)WEEK 1 PPR RANKINGS: | | | | | Jordan Addison, WR, Vikings vs. Buccaneers (DK: $5,100 | FD: $5,500 | SD: 1.55X)Minnesota used its first-round pick to select Addison to be the heir apparent to longtime Viking Adam Thielen. With respect to AT, the Vikes' receiving corps appears to have upgraded in a major way. Addison is an elite route-runner, a superb separator, and a sure-handed pa s-catcher. He's going to do big things with Kirk Cousins, especially considering how much attention consensus No. 1 fantasy pick Justin Jefferson commands on the opposite side of the field. We've been targeting Addison in a ton of fantasy drafts, and we're buying him big-time as a Week 1 DFS value. The Buccaneers ranked in the bottom third of the NFL in TDs (16), DK points (605.8), and FD points (487.8) allowed to wide receivers last season. Add Addison ASAP.Michael Thomas, Saints vs. Titans (DK: $6,000 | FD: $6,000 | SD: 1.55X)This one is a little pricier than we typically spring for, but the matchup is juicy and we expect big things for Thomas, Carr, and Chris Olave this season. We think $6,000 will wind up being a steal. MT may not be what he used to be, but he's still one of the better wideouts in the NFL. He runs crisp routes, has strong hands, and has the combination of size and strength to make him a great fit for a QB like Carr. Oh, and did we mention that Tenne see allowed themostfantasy points Luke Kennard Jersey to receivers in 2022?More solid Week 1 WR values: George Pickens, Steelers vs. 49ers (DK: $5,000 | FD: FD: $5,800 | SD: 1.55X); Drake London, Falcons vs. Panthers (DK: $5,400 | FD: $6,200 | SD: 1.45X); Nico Collins, Texans at Ravens (DK: $4,700 | FD: $5,800 | SD: 1.55X); Zay Flowers, Ravens vs. Texans (DK: $4,000 | FD: $5,500 | SD: 1.55X)Juwan Johnson, Saints vs. Titans (DK: $3,900 | FD: $5,100 | SD: 1.5X)Johnson has been one of our favorite sleepers all summer after his 500-yard, seven-TD mini-breakout in 2022. Carr should be able to help him unlock more yards and a higher catch rate (he was at 64.6-percent last season), with the red-zone opportunities likely remaining the same. The Titans surrendered the fifth-most fantasy points to the tight end position Jordan Bone Jersey in '22. It's an upside JJ you can afford!More solid Week 1 TE values: Gerald Everett, Chargers vs. Dolphins (DK: $4,300 | FD: $5,500 | SD: 1.45X); David Njoku, Browns vs. Bengals (DK: $4,200 | FD: $5,600 | SD: 1.45X); Luke Musgrave, Packers at Bears (DK: $2,900 | FD: $4,500 | SD: 1.7X)Washington Commanders vs. Cardinals (DK: $2,800 | FD: $4,900)You may have heard this before, but the Cardinals stink. While Kyler Murray (knee) remains on the PUP to start the season, they might be the worst team in the NFL. Washington's defensive line, however, remains one of the better pa s-rushing groups in pro football. Josh Dobbs or Clayton Tune could be in for some big trouble this weekend in the nation's capital, which translates to succe s for any DFS player who invested in the Commanders.Other solid Week 1 D/ST values: Seahawks vs. Rams (DK: $3,300 | FD: $4,200); Bengals at Browns (DK: $2,900 | FD: $3,900)
